Choppy when connecting laptop to TV via HDMI cable.

Hi

The stream on my laptop is fine but when I connect my laptop to my TV via HDMI the video and audio become choppy so it is virtually unwatchable. Can anyone help with this?

Thanks!

I get exactly the same and it's really annoying.

On laptop Now TV is fine, but when connecting to a modern (very smart) HiSense TV via an HDMI cable approximately every 5-10 seconds there is a pause/freeze for a second or so.

Watching anything (especially a battle scene in GOT) is so annoying we have to resort to watching on a laptop, not great when you've a 50" TV in the same room!

Think it's a similar situation using an older, non-smart, Samsung TV too .

Anyone else have the same problem or even better have a solution?

Thanks in advance.

Replying to my own post (in case it helps anyone else).

Seems like a simple update of my laptop's 'Intel HD Graphics  4600' driver did the trick.

Simplistically all I did was go to Device Manager, expanded Display Adaptors, right clicked on each one that was there (I had two available, an Intel one and the other an NVIDIA one) and selected 'Update driver'.  The NVIDIA one was up-to-date but the Intel driver updated.

Tried it after the update and NowTV via HDMI cable from laptop to TV seems to work fine (tried 2x TVs just to be sure).
