Hi there, I'm just wondering how do we report the issues with Now TV app on the youview boxes as it doesnt work correct and I'm having to use my old Now TV box. Can someone at Now TV advise or confirm that they are aware of the issues and its being worked on.
Post your problem here...
As in other posts already on the forum boxsets stuff either buffers or doesnt even load at times, particular issue for last 4 days was the new pope, perfect on now tv box. Tried for 4 days and constant buffer issues on youview box, 100% related to now tv app on this device.
Managed to watch live TV no problems.
Cheers
Well from the handful of complaints about buffering issues on Youview it appears to only happen when watching on demand and not live streams, correct? I'm watching the new pope right now and it's fine for me... I'm not dismissive as there could be an issue that happens at different times of the day/night, maybe when server load increases? I have connected up my BT T2100 box and come the 1st I will try and replicate the issues reported but for me, on my T4000 and T2000 NOWTV works just fine.
It wasnt just me reporting it but from launch day until lastnight it was the exact same, lastnight it didnt even load the episode, just the 4 colours spinning, then as every other night switched to my now tv box and no issues at all. 4 nights is very consistant. Sometimes it will buffer x amount of mins into the show, dont think its buffered once on my now tv box.
Cheers
You need to post more info before anyone can really make a report. Answer the following:
Might help pin point a cause or help Youview and/or NOWTV track down any potential issue.
1. Not at home but its the plunset box, can check later
2. Season 2 and any episode you want
3. Anytime I've put it on which is after 8, between 8 and 11pm
Tested tonight , same issues, spinning 4 now tv circles. This was just after 8pm. I had tested last night just after 9pm and it was perfect so its worked 1 day in about 5. Frustrating as I would prefer to use just the one box.
Another update not that Now TV are interested in fixing, should be pulled until fixed.
Just to further update this.
Lastnight I went to my watchlist to watch the new pope, tried twice and spinning circles, tried another program that was in my watchlist, same issue, rebooted box tested same method and again same problem, doesn't even list the episodes, circles spinning at that point.
Then I decided to find the programs by manual effort and going through channels and picking sky atlantic and then finding the program, all the episodes for that program then listed and I was able to watch. So it looks like a bug with the Watchlist but there are certainly issue, very poor bit of software.
Looks like now tv support want to wash there hands of this, app doesnt work prooperly, no solution, forget about it and hope it goes away. Pretty poor.
Is anyone else having an issue with watching anything from Sky Movies where you can't input the pin code using the remote? It doesn't recognise anything from the number keys so it thinks I'm putting the wrong code in every time. Very annoying.
Hi @Anonymous User
Do you mean the parental pin code when attempting to watch a live NowTV movie ?
If so have you tried the default pin code number 1234 that is used on the Youview boxes ?
Hi @schnapps
So my Now TV pin code won't work on the Youview box, it has to be their default one? That is superb 😂 I'll give it a go tonight and update this tomorrow. Thanks for the tip 👍🏻
Hi @Anonymous User
Try the default pin number 1234 first.
Then if that works go into the Youview box settings where you can change the pin number to the same number that you use on your NowTV account.
@schnapps Will do, thanks for the advice 👍🏻
@schnappsI tried your suggestion and it worked perfectly so thanks for the advice!
Has anyone had any luck resolving these issues. I created a similar thread here but no replies as yet:
I have signed up and paid for Sky Sports package online. However it hasn’t registered on my Youview box, therefore I am unable to view it. I can view by going online on my iPad and using the app but I can’t record anything and I want it on my tv
Hi @Anonymous User
Are you a BT TV customer and did you buy the Sports Pass through your BT TV Account ?
Or are your NowTV Passes paid directly to NowTV ?
When you go to My Account > Passes & Vouchers whilst logged on here, do you see the NowTV Sport Pass either Day, Week or Month (not Mobile Sports Pass).
What is the model number of your Youview box ?
Have you gone into the NowTV App on your Youview Box and under My Account section, signed in with the account details that you bought the Sports Pass on ?
If your Youview Box is compatible, there is no recording feature under the NowTV App, where BT TV customers with the relevant NowTV bolt on package can record live sports via the main BT TV television guide (not App).
NowTV customers who buy their passes directly from NowTV have no record facility at the moment on any devices (including Youview boxes).
If you are a BT TV customer, then you need to get in touch directly with BT or post on their BT TV Community Forum, where their Mods seems pretty good in helping with BT TV customers accounts from what i can see reading their Community Forum.
Hi @Anonymous User
Sounds like you was previously on the TalkTalk Sky Sports Boost TV subscription (which i am not familiar with) and assuming with that particular subscription you could record from via the main EPG on your Talk Talk Youview box.
Where i believe Talk Talk have now disbanded the Sky Cinema & Sky Sports Boost add on packages for new TalkTalk customers and new customers are now forced to use NowTV as an alternative method to watch Sky Sports.
Not sure subscribing your passes via NowTV will allow you to record on the TalkTalk box through the main Talk Talk EPG and you are limited to access on the NowTV App on your Talk Talk Youview box or the native inbuilt NowTV App on your LG Smart TV which won't give you a record feature which is normal when using the NowTV App.
Don't know if there is anything in this link below that helps or not.

Hopefully a Talk Talk user on the forum can confirm accordingly or if not maybe ask over on the TalkTalk Community Forum.
