dead dial tone

have a  strange  problem going  on my internet  works  fine but  my  landline  is complely dead  no dial tone does any body know  if  this a  engineer job or  does it mean the wire  is  dmagaed as the  led  on landline backight  still works fine  but  evan when i call out u cant here  no dial tone

Your best option is to use your mobile to call the broadband team.

That probably means there is a fault in the copper wire between the exchange and the cabinet, as that bit is bypassed by the fibre. Now will need to call out Openreach.

Edit: I assume you have tried another handset, "just in case".
