Well, this is embarrassing… We're not sure what happened there - when trying to cancel

I am going through the cancellation process but have been offered 6 months at £5.99 to stay, when I try and accept I get the Well, this is embarassing, the bot chat help just sends be back to the same page, and I can't talk to anyone, do I just cancel and suck it up, is there a fix?

Ignore the bot, and go via having a complaint on the Help site, where you should get the Live Chat option, and get the offer honoured there.

If you get ‘Live chat is unavailable at the moment, or all our advisors are busy. Chat to an advisor every day 8am–midnight for TV issues.’, don’t be put off, by try again a little later.

 

If nothing happens when you choose Live Chat, try an alternative browser, one you haven’t configured with safeguards beyond the default ones the browser offers.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
If you take an offer that comes with a ‘free trial’ of Boost or another Membership, Cancel them straight away. You will still get the full duration of the trial, and if you decide you do want to continue with one or another of the trial products, just revisit the Cancel, and UnCancel it.
