This is gonna be silly to ask here but I'm genuinely curious. And it would probably be better to ask a broadband focused company to answer.
But I have some, although limited knowledge, of setting up home or corporate networks which lead me to wondering what's logically happening on the network before then/ what is my router preloaded to do after I plug it into the wall. Could it be as simple as like an assigned starting ip which needs to be configured on both the router and nearest exchange simultaneously? Is there just a lot of testing involved and the actual turning it on is just a button press?
I'm aware this is silly but I didn't know where else to ask.
