I’m a new NowTV subscriber using my Samsung Smart TV to view
Can anyone tell me are there any additional benefits from using a stick and NowTV remote rather than using the Smart TV - such as being able to watch BBC, ITV Channel’s 4&5 without having to open each app separately
I’m finding it restrictive after 16 years of Sky - I suppose I’ll get used to it in time 🤷🏼♀️

The only real difference is that with the stick you can pause live TV.
However the stick is extremely unreliable and is being phased out by NOW.
Also with your smart TV you can connect via Ethernet.

Hi Guys
Susie, as I am an owner of both a Samsung Smart TV and a Roku 3 streaming box, similar in function to a Now TV stick, the difference is that in the past, when Now TV actually bricked my TV twice with their untested updates, I was able to use my Roku box to continue watching Now TV programming.
So, my Roku 3 in those cases acted as an emergency backup.

Why can’t you watch these channels on Freeview on your smart TV?
Maybe you don’t have a terrestrial aerial?
In which case, it is worth looking to see if your smart tv has Freesat, which will let you watch mostly, but not quite, the same programmes that Freeview does, quite free, from your otherwise defunct Sky dish.
Certainly all of the big five are on there.
