New Style Door to Door Con?

Dear Forum Members

Had a young chap turn up at my door today, just after 3.00pm, saying that my neighbours have been complaining of slow Internet speeds, without saying which neighbour, and that he could offer me a quick switching service.

Being a suspicious and paranoid kinda guy, I said I had no interest in what he was offering and sent him on his way, probably to try and con someone else.

I'm guessing that the telephone scammers are not picking up as many victims as they used to so they're now diversifying by going door to door.

Like with telephone cons, the way to stay safe from door to door scams is not to engage, ignore by saying "you're not interested", and close your door.

Mind you, those of us that lived in pre-internet times had door to door con men knocking on our doors on each and every public holiday, just goes to show the classic cons always come full circle.
