When you ordered NOW broadband did they inform you that an engineer visit would be required?
If no engineer visit is required but you want your router setup in another room to where the swtich is then I believe you will need to call the support team and they will arrange for an OpenReach engineer to come and install a swtich in the room you desire.
FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help
