Have spoken to a now TV rep on live chat about not being able to access red button matches on sky sports tonight very disappointed. He told me they don't have the broadcasting rights to red button, I pointed out that they are owned by sky and was not happy with this. Have been told that they are hoping to get red button up and running but no time scale as to when. Why can't we access sky sports app as an alternative way to access this service.?

I’ve also just found out I can’t watch Red Button Championship games after buying a weekly pass because my team are on Sky twice this week. It’s not made clear at all at time of purchase & I've really had to dig around here to find any info on it.
I think that’s really poor from Sky & Now (I know they are the same) & the rights excuse feels like it could be just that, if they have the rights to broadcast the game I don’t see why the method of subscribing to the content should affect access - physical location I get, but not this.
I contacted Now to ask for a refund between the price of a daily & weekly because I can’t watch the second game & was cut off after just getting the usual bland restating of my question & ‘I understand your concerns’ blah blah; not particularly impressed. 👎

Not true. It is very clear. They have a message at the point you pay which states...

It’s really poor that you don’t get the red button games unless you have the Now TV box. I got Now TV as a Christmas present - thinking I’d get the full football offering. I’m paying about £35 a month and the package as it stands isn’t worth it

You don't get the red button games with the Now TV box.

anyone else noticed in the ios (new) Sky Sports App (which allows you to see red button) not on stb that there's a now tv item (which is unfortunately unclickable) but is next to a Virgin & Sky login icon which seems to suggest to me that maybe red button access could come soon/next season? not on android version of the app thou 😞

Not noticed, how do you do that?

just download app from apple app store (would recommend goto skysports webpages, look for those mentionin EFL/championship red button matches live on mid week games when they have right to show, but also even had a bank holiday match or two on Monday or was it Fri last wk) don't bother tryin to find direct on app store you'l get an old 1 that won't wrk even if av right name! I've not manage to get android vers to wrk, anyone had simila issues? Bodes well for playoffs/next season?

Until there is an official announcement from Sky/Now TV all we can assume is that Now TV will have 1080p later this year.
Ideally I'd want catch-up and red button functionality for Sports also. There is a possibility that it might be added as part of these improvements that have been mentioned by Now TV staff elsewhere in the forums
