Problem with nowtv stick. No internet, remote not working right

New stick just arrived.. we also have other devices in the house that work fine.

The new stick is connected via a wireless broadband extender in our summerhouse ..  previously had computers in here working fine. .

So opened the nowtv stick box..  batteries were loose in the box.. remote loose in the box(not sure if they are meant to arrive sealed?

I've tried new batteries.

I've turned off main router and stick and Wifi extender. Switched all back on in the order router, extender, stick...

It tries to connect but then says its failed and cant connect.

Also.....  the remote is doing nothing.. literally..

Every now and again something happens like menu scrolling but then nothing.

Sounds like your stuff arrived damaged, still, you can start your installation process again by doing a factory reset, just to see if that gets things doing.

Managed to reconnect the wifi extender. It's working but very very slow to
respond to the controller.. like 10 or 20 seconds... not sure what to do in
this instance.. would you suggest factory reset then.. if so do I do that
in the settings menu?
Thanks

First, I'm not a stick user so any info I pass on is all second hand but, saying all that, I would do a factory reset just to free up the software and get it running at peak efficiency.

Anyway, I understand that the Now TV stick has a little button on the outside of it, like this picture below:

Press that button for 6 - 10 seconds and the stick will start from zero again, hopefully you should be OK this time around.

Thanks. I tried this but it didn't work.
I'm assuming we need a hoid internet connection even to swipe through the
menus right?

It's just weird as weve had computers in here last 3 years with mostly
great internet. I've tried an Amazon fire stick as well but still issues
so it seems the issue is here. Will get to the bottom if it soon.
