I'm not sure if this will do any good or just be a vent.
Has anyone ever been given a good reason why we must suffer the mandatory PIN to watch live sky movies even if the household has no children. I know we live in a nanny state these days but surely there is a more acceptable way of doing this like say, a tick box opt out of parental controls so NOWtv are no longer liable for the protection of viewer that have ticked it?

This PIN is mandated by Ofcom, not by NowTV or Sky.
Services that do not comply are liable to be taken off-air.
I agree that the implementation of it is absurd, even if there is the germ of a necessary safeguard for children buried in there somewhere.
You might like to ask Ofcom about why it works the way it does.

@Anonymous User This may help; have you tried watching movies on catch-up rather than “live”. I’ve only watched movies on catch-up and haven’t needed to enter a pin, not that I’ve ever set up a parental pin.
