Nowtv stick HDMI changing

I brought a NowTv stick, it is plugged directly into my hdmi port in my tv. Now every time I switch my tv off using the remote it changes the hdmi source instead of turning the tv off. I tried turning off the 1 touch setting but this hasn’t prevented it. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it’s really annoying

What make and model number TV do you own ?

 

Sounds like there is an IR command conflict between the NowTV smart remote on/off TV standby button and your Television (a small number of people have reported this in the past on some supermarket branded or Argos TV's if my memory serves me right). 

 

The only things i would be tempted to try is go into your TV menu settings and have a play around with the HDMI CEC feature.

 

Also perhaps go into the Stick menu settings under Remote and setup the remote once again, but this time don't accept the first time when the music stops on the setup procedure and keep ploughing through the codes to hopefully another suitable code works on your TV.
