Nowhere smart stick won’t work

So last night it started to freezer which was weird as ive only had it for 2 months. Came home today from work and it won’t work at all. Done a hard reset but wants to pair remote that seems to be already paired.

please help

Was that a full factory reset or just switching the power off on the stick ?

thanks for getting back to me, at first I did the the good old off and on at the wall then when that didn’t work I did hard rest set to factory settings. I currently trying to pair my remote but it won’t pair. The green light is flashing and everything.

The nowtv smart remotes eats through batteries, where i am guessing you have tried fresh new batteries with the remote, then press the small pair button when removing the remote battery cover.

Would have thought a full factory reset would have fixed it.

If you own a smartphone whats happens if you download the Roku Remote App from your phones App Store and attempt to use the App to control the stick.

Does the Roku Remote App work with your stick ?

Sorry to jump in on this thread but I’m having similar issues. I’ve had to factory reset the stick several times in the couple of months I’ve had it as it kept freezing now it won’t work at all. I paid for the now tv remote app and that isn’t finding a roku device even though the welcome screen is showing on my tv. I’ve tried changing the batteries on the remote and the pairing light is flashing green but it won’t pair. The light on the stick is also flashing white despite numerous resets

Did you say that you paid for the Roku Remote Controller App which should be free from my understanding from the Google Play or IOS Apps Store.

If the Roku Remote App on your smartphone or tablet is not communicating with the NowTV stick, then make sure your mobile device is on the same wifi frequency 2.4ghz or 5ghz and Network has your stick.

Just to add if the stick is not setup and already connected to your wifi home network then i don't think the Roku Remote App will work until the stick is all setup and ready to go.

If factory resetting the stick by holding the reset button for about 15 to 20 seconds doesn't bring the stick back to life with the Lets Get Started Message, then you may need a replacement stick.

Should you get past the Lets Get Started Message on your TV screen but the stick doesn't connected to your Wifi network on your Router, then some people have had some success using their phone has a temporary wifi hotspot then once the stick is fully setup reverted back to the home network wifi.

Thank you for the information. The now tv remote app was 99p on the App Store. It won’t let me past the lets get started screen. It keeps telling me to pair the remote and the light is flashing on the remote but the stick won’t pair. I’ve had it 2 months and been watching it regularly but looks like I will have to contact the seller for a replacement remote as I’ve tried everything

Yeah it does sound that you may need to contact the retailer you bought the stick from for either a replacement or refund under warranty.

I find that when i use my NowTV 4K Smart box and when the batteries are less than 50% on the smart remote it loses it's connection where the only way i can resolve it is by temporary removing the existing batteries and inserting them again (then the remote will work for a few hours or a couple of days until i have to carry out the process again) or fit new batteries that may last for a month until the same problem re occurs.

Never had the problem with the smart remote the first year or so (apart from the batteries always drained quickly) so i don't know if the loss of connection on the remote in my case is hardware, software or wifi related.

Think i would have preferred if it was my choice for the NowTV remote to work over Bluetooth rather than Wifi direct.

Though this doesn't seem to be your particular problem with the stick because you replaced the batteries with new ones and still encountering the same issue 😠.

This is the Roku Remote Controller App that i use which is Roku's own App version that works with the NowTV Stick or NowTV Boxes together with the Roku Players.

Though if you are stuck on the Lets Get Started screen on your television this App won't work until you have setup the stick with the NowTV smart remote 😠.
