Now TV stick working but tv has loads of interference

I have a Panasonic plasma tv and have got NOW TV stick that works ok for catchup but tv has loads of interference that goes away when I switch off power to the NOW tv stick??

How do you connect the stick to the TV? Is it directly into the HDMI slot or are you connected via a HDMI extension?

 

I found having issues when plugged directly into the TV and they were resolved when I connected by an extension. 

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help
