Error 006

Trying to install new stick but keep getting update failed because verification failed error 006. Tried to reboot but keep getting the same message.

Not familiar with that error code.

What i would try is to make sure that you use the mains outlet power adapter that came with the stick and factory reset the stick by holding the reset button on the stick for about 15 to 20 secs until you see the " Let's get started" message pop up on your TV screen.

Give that a try first.

Just another thought have you already got a nowtv account or are you in the process of creating a new account due to just joining nowtv ?

Thanks, I already have an account. I’m now stuck on the first screen that says nowtv

The nowtv screen that you are stuck on is it the purple screen with the flashing popcorn, balloons and spinning cricket ball etc or is it a nowtv advert information screen where there is a arrow or button on the RHS you need to keep clicking on the remote controller until you reach the nowtv main menu homepage ?

Have you got passed the sign in and setup WiFi stage of the setup process ?

We are just getting to the choose your network, which we do when it says update available it will restart automatically but then it says the software update failed because the verification failed (error 006)

Sounds to me that the stick is struggling to connect to your network.

I have gone to the “secret screen” and restored to factory settings but still no luck! So much for plug in and start watching straight away!!!
