New HD Boost Service

Have started HD boist trial on Smart Box. Whilst picture quality on ITV plus and All 4 plus and Netflix is pin sharp with great colour, the quality of Sky Atlantic via Now TV plus is much poorer. In fact it is barely noticeable improvement. The Sky picture is blurry with washed out colours. I checked my Virgin broadband speed, 125mb/s available. The box handles HD from non Sky ok, so I conclude its not worth it.

Worth it for Sport, significant improvement on football, especially 50 FPS.

Didn’t notice too much improvement otherwise.

The HD boost does absolutely nothing for anything else other than Now TV services.

What do I need to get NOW TV Boost?

You’ll need:

  • A device that supports Boost (see the list below)
  • An HD TV
  • An Entertainment, Sky Cinema or Kids Pass or a Sky Sports Day, Week or Month Pass bought from NOW TV (Boost isn’t available with Passes that you buy through a third party, like iTunes or Vodafone)
