Help: No TV signal

Our Smart TV Box was working perfectly, but last week suddenly our TV said No signal. We have NOW TV channels, but we don't have Freeview channels anymore. I've already tried:

- Checking the aeral cable moving it and trying new positions.

- Resetting the box.

- Setting up channels again (it didn't find anything).

- Asking the neighbors about the areal (they do have tv).

Any idea what is happening?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @schnapps

We don't have any friend with tv here, so we can't check that. Does Now TV any engeneer system so someone can check? How does it work in these situations? Thanks

Hi @Anonymous User

Not aware of anyway that a NowTV Tech Engineer could check your TV aerial installation remotely ?

Because you are not picking up TV channels on either your smart box or the inbuilt TV tuner on your television set, then this would suggest to me that there is an issue somewhere with your TV aerial wiring / installation which needs further investigation by somebody who has a little more knowledge about TV aerial installations.

If your smart box is under warranty you could ask the Retailer you bought the box from for a replacement.

Should the replacement smart box also shows the same symptoms of not receiving any Freeview TV channels, then you will definitely know  it's your aerial wiring / installation causing the problem.

Whats strange though, was you said initially that the smart box was working fine receiving the Freeview channels and something has happened recently with the loss of the TV signal (again points to a fault with the aerial wiring).

If the replacement smart box also doesn't pick up the Freeview TV channels, then you may have to employ a TV aerial Engineer to look into this which could get costly or perhaps take a chance on an indoor portable aerial.

One of the forum members on here has recommended a portable aerial from Amazon on this linked thread below.

https://community.nowtv.com/t5/NOW-TV-Smart-Box/Can-I-use-the-same-aerial-and-split-it/m-p/450181#M4420

Please be aware that a portable aerial may or may not work effectively in your particular circumstances with no guarantees whatsoever.

Not sure what else to suggest, perhaps other helpful forum members on here can have a read of this thread and will offer you some further advice and assistance.

Hopefully somebody else on here will look at this differently and come up with a far simpler solution for you ?
