HDR

Hi all,

 

Any chance we can receive HDR on the Smart Nowtv Box using 1080p.

Is it posible for an HDR signal to be streamed in (1080p). ?.

 

Just noticed Netflix thread saying it was posible to receive HDR in 1080p,

it's not just for 4k UHD TVs.

You still need a 4k UHD,n HDMI 2.0 socket to open an HDR signal.

From a video encoding point of view it's possible for just about any video and image format to include HDR. Compatibility and playback support are the biggest issues.

 

Media streaming services such as Amazon and Netflix typically use the H265/HEVC video format for their HDR content. NOW TV use the H264/AVC video format. So the current answer to your question is.... No!
