Hi all.
I had the same problem. activation plugin not downloaded. Followed the steps to access the secret menu and selected factory reset. Seems to have worked.

I have this error. Have tried all the reset information and got absolutely no where. Sky don't give a damn so I have now chucked the bloody thing in the bin. Useless isn't the word I would use TOTAL BLOODY SKY RIP OFF is more like it.

There are known issues with Now TV devices.

Over on NowTV Twitter this afternoon NowTV have acknowledged an issue with this particular error code and it has been escalated to their Technical Team to fix.
According to the Tweet there was no time frame but said they are working on getting it resolved ASAP.

The Activation Plugin error message does happen from time to time for a small number of customers, though the error message today is more widespread and looks like it's effecting a lot of people who are attempting to activate their new NowTV device or have factory reset their device during the course of today.

So I am also experiencing this error today on a brand new stick. Can you please offer some explanation of the error. I can see the -4 activation plugin download failure seems to be a regular issue since 2015 so
1. what does the error signify?
2. What steps are nowtv taking to rectify it?
3. How long should someone reasonably expect to wait for a resolution of the issue?
