now tv remote doesnt work

Ok I have setup the box and it comes on fine. Then when it comes to the setup the remote just doesn't work at all the box isn't reading it either, tried resetting, moving the box closer, nothing is blocking it so yh I'm stuck

We're sorry you're experiencing this! How frustrating!

 

Are the batteries died or not made it?

Have you turned everything off and tried again?

 

If so you might actually need another remote. Annoying but we'll have to get this sorted so if all above has failed, I have sent you a private message so we can check over your account and resolve this for you.

we eventually discovered that banging the remote on your knee does work.

four returns to argos and four new boxes later at the suggestion of a
helpful argos customer we had success and all now working well.

On a different subject does anyone know if I can use my bank details for
separate xmas gift box not being used at my address?
If so would it require a new user name and password?

Yes you could. It would be your own details though that you would need to use I think. Remember there is a limit of four devices and only two can be used at the same time. That's if you are paying for the subscription for them. If you mean could you buy a box with your bank details simply to give to someone as gift then yes you can do that and they can set up their own account.

my remote doesnt respond no flashing lights appear changed the batteries 3 times no joy also moved the remote closer to box nothing and the batteries where fitted in right any fix for this please

Can you please check if there are any stickers left on the remote? As this disrupts the signal.

 

If the light on the box itself remains solid and doesn't flash when you press buttons on the remote, it seems your remote is faulty and we'll have to send you another one. Unfortunately this can't be done over Community as we need to ask you some security questions first. HI WE DISCOVERED THROUGH TRIAL AND ERROR AND ANOTHER COMMUNITY IDEA WAS TO
BANG REMOTE SHARPLY ON TABLE OR KNEE. IT REALLY DOES WORK AND WE HAVE 4
BOXES WORKING SUCCESSFULLY NOW.

A FRIEND OF OURS HAS SWAPPED HER REMOTE TO A ROKU MAKE WHICH IS COMPATIBLE.

ALSO YOU MAY NOTICE THAT IPLAYER WILL FREEZE NOW AND AGAIN BUT JUST GO BACK
TO START.

ONLY PROBLEM FOR ME IS NO SUBTITLES ON MOVIES OTHERWISE HAPPY VIEWING.

GET TAPPING THAT REMOTE AND SEE HOW IT WORKS GOOD LUCK.

My NOWTV box bought from Currys also had a none working remote out of the box, however in my case it was the supplied batteries that were totally flat. Swapped them with the ones from my PVR remote, NOWTV remote worked, PVR one didn't. Perhaps supply better batteries, or don't supply any?
