NowTV Purple Screen No picture

Hi i've seen the post here

that says the HDMI Lead is the problem ?

 

this is the lead that was provided with the NowTV Box so do we have to buy another lead ?

 

i have re-set the box still the same problem, internet speed is ok 20mb +

 

buying new leads wont solve the problem imo as i have other HDMI Shielded leads and HDMI Leads on my Sky box i have tried them all with the NowTV Box they all have the same problem ? when connected to the NowTV Box Purple screen no picture the Sound is ok.

Is there any ideas how to resolve it ?. numerous leads dont work

is it a Box Firmware problem ?

It's an old Sony Brava, 720p. Can't afford another one.

 

Now box is set to 720p output.

 

Chat support escalated the report. Everything works fine except the streaming video. 😞

Hi @Anonymous User

 

Thank's for your post.

 

Would it be possible to follow the steps below to see if they resolve the issue for you.

 

First switch off the power to both your TV and NOW TV Box.

Once the power is off remove the cables from the back of your NOW TV Box, then also remove all cables from back of your TV.

Leave for about 1 min, then replace the cables on your TV 1st, then do your NOW TV Box.

Once all cables have been replaced switch power back on but don't do anything else as yet.

After a few min's turn the TV back on and make sure its on the correct input for your box.

Then press any key on your NOW TV Remote control.

Try to play content from NOW TV and fingers crossed the purple screen is gone.

Confirmed 720p

powered off at wall
disconnected hdmi cable

Waited

Reconnect hdmi

turned power on

tv came on with power 

now box on with power

select now TV, then play stream

PURPLE SCREEN OF DEATH

 

switching Around the Horn inputs 4,5,6,7,8,9,free view,1,2,3 Bingo stream on

only requires ten button presses

not so good

Sorry.. You've lost me. No TV has that many HDMI inputs!

 

For testing purposes... Can you try disconnecting all other HDMI connected devices except the NOW TV box from your television. And then try each of your televisions HDMI inputs to see if you can get a stable image?

only inputs 4,5 and 7 are HDMI. There are SCART and other inputs as well.

 

I found a shortcut on the TV controller to switch from input 4 to 5 and back, which then allows the Streaming to work fine.

Thank you. Had used livechat twice to get this sorted but to no avail. Was told that tech team would email me within 24hrs. Having followed your advice it is now sorted!

thanks for the fix. I had to turn my TV and nowtv box on and off at the mains and then unplug/replug the HDMI cable at the TV.

 

The "hdcp unauthorised content disabled" message turned up after we had a power cut.

tried all of the suggestions tv is a new 46 toshiba 3HDMI sockets as well...any help please
