Hey FM

Check out my post to Victoria here:

Now TV's help should be able to sort you out.

Thanks for trying to help. Can't find specific question in help. Live chat doesn't  work.

Hey FM

I just checked Chat online at it's working fine, did you press the right buttons or are you using a browser that doesn't completely work with this web-site?

Look, you've got press the "How to get in touch" button then select in the Live Chat options that appear, which is TV or Broadband & Calls and finally click Chat online, it does work and they're not busy at the moment.

All  I can see is 'Get in touch quicker' not 'how to get in touch'.

@Anonymous User near the bottom, little blue down arrow. Click it, select broadband or TV (whichever is relevant) and then the button should go green. Click it to open chat.

Just opened chat. Error message -

Hmmm – it looks like there’s a connection problem at the moment.

@Anonymous User things to try of you can't get through to live chat

Power down the NowTV box and your router, wait one minute and then turn your router back on. Once the router has done a complete start up turn on the NowTV box and see if it finds the network.

If it doesn't, go to settings, network settings and register the device in your network again. Make sure you've correctly selected wireless or Ethernet depending on what you use.

The network is found. It just won't connect.

@Anonymous User have you restarted the router? It just might be that it can assign an IP address. This is normally sorted by restarting the router.

Hi @Anonymous User

Sounds like there is something on your Router or something in your Router settings or third party software is blocking the NowTV box connecting to your Router.

Are you using a fixed open public DNS on your Router something like Google DNS ?

If so have you tried setting up your Router by using the automatic dynamic DNS provided by your ISP.

Or if you have some additional third party software on your Router, try temporary disabling it to see if the NowTV box connects.

@schnapps   &  @Saint1976  @Anonymous User  (for info)

Hi Schnapps

Can I kick this idea at you:

Very recently, within the last few days, my firewall was updated and I now find that there are some web-sites I can no longer connect to (I intent to sort this out in the new year).

I wonder if something like this could have happened to FM57, in other words could Now TV, or parts of it, have been auto-flagged as "bad actors".

Just putting it out there.

Prior to this happening  I was getting a message about poor speed.

Yeah FM

Poor line speed would also affect wi-fi speed, this would indicate something gone wrong with the line leading into your home, this nonsense has also happened to me recently and OpenReach had to put it right.

With my case, I was suffering from drop outs and decreasing speed so I contacted my ISP, something you may have to do.

Unless one of the other guys say something different, seems like you've got an external problem, i.e. not user fixable.

Hi @Anonymous User

Can you change the wifi channel on your Router or see if either 2.4ghz or 5ghz works (assuming you have a dual band router).

Also i would be tempted to factory reset your Router back to its default settings.

It's a shame you can't test the box over Ethernet instead of wifi.

I rebooted-no luck.
