No channels found

Might be a silly question but… After the strong winds last night we have lost all channels on our Now TV black box.

when trying to search for the channels again it states ‘make sure your tv Ariel is properly connected to your now tv box.’

is this the Ariel outside or can the boxes run without an outside Ariel?

How do we get our TV channels back!?

Hi @Anonymous User

I am guessing you have the NOW Freeview Smart box with the TV aerial plugged in the back of it.

Like the picture shown below ?

If there has been high winds, then there is a possibility the outside aerial has moved out of position or falling down.

Maybe try some of the suggestions in this linked thread below.

Hi @Anonymous User

Without a functioning TV aerial plugged into the back of the NOW Freeview Smart box you won't receive the over the air Freeview channels and can only use the Apps over the internet such has BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub etc etc.

Disconnect the aerial cable from the back of the Now box, and plug it directly into the aerial socket on the TV.

Do you get any channels?

If not, try tuning the TV channels on the TV.

If still nothing, it is an aerial fault.

If you have an outside aerial, go and try to look at it.
Has it perhaps blown down?

Has something fallen on it?

Is it pointing in the same direction as any other TV aerials you can see round you - perhaps it has been blown out of the correct direction?

If any of the above, the Now box is exonerated, and you will need to call an aerial fitter.

But if the TV is fine, but the Now box still can’t get any channels, then the box is the problem.

Find where the reset is (a tiny button, or perhaps a small pinhole you push the end of a paper clip in). Power the box on, and hold the reset in for over 15 seconds, and try tuning the box again.

If you still can’t get it on, it may have failed, but come back for some more advice if need be.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
