Just dont get it

Got the black box, followed all instructions. Now have a hello screen and nothing happens at all. Not very tech minded but can cope with most things, This is not as easy as alleged in the sales hype. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Im new to all this but personally I would always try turning on and off first as it solves so many issues you would not believe and if you have done that and you are still getting issues i would do a hard reset,  if you still have issues after thoose and have followed all the instructiosn give take it back to where you purchased it and they will exchange it as it could be a faulty or broken one that you have
