I have noticed that a lot of people are experiencing the same issues

The two main issues I see happening with the black boxes are:

 

1)

The freeview channels have disappeared and the home screen is no longer available.

 

2)

The home screen and the TV guide freezes and becomes unavailable.

 

Could these be possible methods of obsolescence?

 

I sincerely hope not.

Experiencing the same issues for a few weeks now. TV guide seems to be back now ( was missing since about 1pm )  but for who knows how long!
