Mine has been playing up for weeks since the last update in August. Mine happens mostly every half hour but sometimes also happens 10 minutes and it doesnt seem to apply in my case for it too happen if i have had the channel on for a prolonged period of times as like i said sometimes it will happen 10 minutes after putting on a channel and then other times within half an hour multiple times of day. It is really starting to get on my nerves because no matter what i do whether i rest the now tv stick or rest my tv or broadband nothing helps. So because of how frustrated i get when i want to watch live tv i cant as i dont see the point in missing half of a film or show that i was watching. Something needs to be done or fixed somehow because we are all paying for services and not getting the full benefits for paying for that service.
It really shouldn't be that hard for them to figure out. It's happening when a new programme starts, though not nexcessarily on the channel you're watching. Today it happened to me at i think 5:20. It was something 20. 4:20 or 5:20. There wasn't a programme change on the channel i had on, but i looked and a new programme started at 5:20 on one of the other channels. It's clearly related to the now/next thing changing. Just log every time it happens, then see what the now/next of those times have in common. Maybe the descriptions are too long for the software coding to read or something like that.
I've seen this post and had the same issues since some kind of software upgrade (given the menus changed and I need to enter the pin every time I go onto it from that moment). Probably a month or more now at least.
Whether I'm watching live, on a live delay having paused or some other streaming show it will regularly drop the feed with the "unknown page error" - and no, it's not the internet connection.
Here's what's suspicious though.
I've kept a check of the times today and these are the EXACT times my Live TV has "crashed" with this error today only.
And it's been that way EVERY day since the "upgrade".
Coincidence? On the half hour like clockwork!
It's clearly glitches in the system since notable changes were made so what exactly are Now TV / Sky doing about it?
I am having the same issue been like it for 2 days now and, been restarting the nowtv stick and broadband and there's no changes, it's abit unfair that am paying for my subscriptions and not getting any service hope this can get resolved
Still experiencing this, I got on to customer service again and told them how frustrating it is.
They were pretty kind and understanding. Got my sports pass refunded into credit for the next month!
Get onto live chat and tell them because this bug should have been fixed or at least spotted before they released the new firmware to the smart boxes and TVs.
I too have been experiencing this issue since the major UI update on 21st August, so I'm glad I found this chat thread as I thought it was only happening to me. I get the Unknown Page Error message at pretty regular intervals after about half an hour of viewing. I've had this happen 12 times today alone (I work in sport, so uninterrupted access to the sport channels is pretty important for me to be able to do my job properly).
I'm fed up with banging my head against a brick wall when trying to deal with the representatives on live chat. Like you all, I keep getting told that my case has been escalated, people are working on it and it'll be fixed very soon. A fortnight ago, I was assured it would be resolved in a "couple of days".
When I asked about not providing the facility to roll back the UI to the pre-August 21st version, I was told that it isn't possible. The new, post-21st August version is very user unfriendly and very buggy, so @Simon-J please could the option to roll back UI be thought about again and made available?
The clear lack of thorough testing before release really isn't acceptable from NOW TV, especially when people are paying so much for a service that's not being provided properly.
@Zibb you seem to be inferring that no one from Customer Service keeps an eye on this forum and they don't know about how many of their paying community are frustrated, irritated and on the verge of binning this so-called service as day after day goes by with no resolution.
I wonder if the advertisers know how the service they are probably paying the lion's share for is being provided. Due to the timing of the error, for me it's generally the advertisements that are rolling while I'm rebooting the system.
@JulietHotel Everytime I contacted live chat in the past they had no idea about this issue. I assumed just read notes on my account about the technical issue and go from there I assume.
Although on this occasion in live chat the gentleman seemed aware of this issue and very understanding.
Edit- Just adding,I asked if there was any progress or an estimated date for when the fix update is coming our way, as expected they couldn't say.
I've been getting this for some weeks. Update on 21/Aug has been my prime suspect.
Current software version: 9.2.3 Build 5136
No new s/w is available when manual update tried.
Still happens, twice today already.
Don't think it's the only iffy thing with the new update. I've been caught up in the UI for far too long on a number of occasions. Think this is the worst defect, tho.
@sdan10I feel your pain - every 15 minutes today for me on the set-top box, slightly better on the stick. To make matters worse, I don't seem to be able to access Live Chat. I can get to the button, but there doesn't seem to be any hyperlink behind it. I've tried it on Firefox and Chrome browsers. I've turned off any weird blockers or badgers I have and still nothing. Guess it's going to have to be snail mail .... if I can find some place to send it to. NOT HAPPY.
