I’m unable to watch anything on my phone. Never had this problem before. It’s coming up ‘the app is unable to connect to the stream-please try again. If the problem persists please restart the app Code0xfd80009e’
Does anyone know what the hell that means? Tried restarting the app for the last hour and nothing’s working. The online chat isn’t working either.

I am guessing you are using an Apple iPhone with the nowtv App.
Reading all the posts on here in the last hour it looks like nowtv are having a technical issue their end when using IOS mobile devices on their App.
Don't think there is anything you can do at the moment until the nowtv team posts up a red service banner on here to advise customers what's happening or how to resolve it with instructions on what needs doing.
So far it looks like only IOS mobile devices are effected.

NowTV also not working on my PC
Also not working on my Samsung phone, but with different error message than my iPad.
Have similar problem with an LG G5, I can cast from app on phone but not watch programmes on phone itself.

Depends on what nowtv identifies what's causing the issue, it may be automatically fixed or they may post under the red service banner a work around solution.
I don't own an Apple mobile device, but just wondering have Apple released an new OS today on their mobile devices which is causing a conflict with the App or have nowtv issued a new NowTV App which is causing the problem ?
If it's a new OS can you temporary roll back to an older version until nowtv comes up with a resolution ?
