Sounds to me that the remote has un paired from the stick over wifi.
Firstly try rebooting both your stick and router, if that doesn't work try some of the suggestions in this help guide.

If still no joy, factory reset the stick by holding the small reset button on the stick for about 6 seconds when the stick is powered up.
