Now to box

Hi. I changed broadband yesterday, had no problem with my box before. Come home last night my remote doesn’t appear to be working but cannot check as it’s an old model no lights on it and my now to box just keeps flashing. 2 white blinks then it stops. Any ideas?

Hi @Carrie79

I am assuming you are using Wi-Fi and can't connect the NOW Box over Ethernet ?

Do you have an active NOW Membership ?

If so, try a full factory reset on the NOW box by holding in a pin in the small reset hole in the back of the NOW Box for around 30 seconds whilst both the TV and NOW Box are switched on.

Then start again from scratch and when prompted use your existing NOW account details with your active NOW Membership.

If when setting up the NOW Box it won't connect over Wi-Fi once you select your new Router Network name and Wi-Fi password, then go into the Router settings and double check it's using a lower Wi-Fi channel number on both 2.4 and 5ghz and try connecting to the Router Wi-Fi again.

Bit confused as to what you say the problem is.

I'm assuming by now to box, you meant the Now hub 2, and it has a flashing internet light.

If that is not what you mean, please explain.

Really not sure what a remote control has to do with it.

Like @schnapps  I’m interpreting this as someone who changed her broadband (not necessarily to Now) and has an older Now streaming box which isn’t working properly any more.

But whether this is a simple failure to teach the box the new SSID and password that will no doubt have come with the new router that will no doubt have come with the changed broadband, or something a bit deeper, we aren’t sure.

No doubt @Carrie79 will be back to enlighten us with which big of @schnapps’ good advice did the trick for her.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

Actually now I notice this is in the "NOW Stick" part of the forum, that does make a lot more sense.

Because I can't stand the "red stripes" on the posts, due to the changed software, I always start from the home page, and just reply to posts that seem interesting, not always noticing which sub-forum they are in.

Red stripes?
I don’t get any red stripes on this iPad - what device are you using?

Is this another case where we tablet users are second-class Now citizens?

Oh, and BTW ’big’ should be ‘bit’ in my posting above,

If I start from community, it is fine.

Ah yes, your recipe works on my iPad also.

”Doctor, it hurts when I do this”.

”Well, don’t do it, then”.

I'm really not sure why, but the random red stripes play havoc with my OCD.

I guess you don’t drink Jamaican lager, then? 😛
