Chanel 4

I have a now tv box, I want to watch something on Chanel 4 but it keeps coming up that there is an error. This has been an ongoing problem, I’ve tried everything to get it to work!

Tried a factory reset to the box?

Unplugging your router for a few minutes?

Otherwise you need to report with Channel 4 as it is their app.

 My NowTV stick was giving an error with Channel Four today - error 0008.

I updated the Channel Four app, or tried to, but nothing changed.

So I restarted the Stick; again, nothing changed.

The Channel Four issue, though, wasn’t what I was investigating, so I carried on, later doing a Factory Reset on the Stick. Major revamp, 35 Channels (Apps) reloaded, including Channel Four, after which it started working again.

If I had just been looking for the Channel Four problem, then before a Factory Reset, I would have tried deleting and reinstalling the Channel Four App.

That might have worked, and you should try it, but the Factory Reset did work.

However, don’t Factory Reset a NowTV Stick unless you have one or more running Now Memberships, or are prepared to give it your bank details and take one out. (Even if it’s only a trial of Hayu, which you can quickly cancel at no cost).

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
