Box not signing in

Right so this is the second box I have brought first one returned as after tech support said box 1 was dead.

However, second box has same issues.

I can watch now TV on my laptop on my username etc so all setup that end fine.

My broadband is pretty good from Sky not fibre but I can watch NowTv next to where nowtv box is based with no troubles.

I have tried :

reseting box and router

updating software

reseting passwords

wireless and wired connection to router

turning HDMI cable other way round!

But still when I try to sign in to the box when it is setting up it says sorry an unknown error has occured please reenter your username and password.

as I said before tech support wrote last box off but ssurely 2 boxes in a row is unlikely and there must be another reason....

All help gratefully recieved.

Now this is interesting I had a password with a \ in it with each of my passwords I have used on the system. I have just done one without the \ and box has signed in! Wierd maybe I missed something in the password instructions but cannot remember any do not use \ instructions!

@Anonymous User Hi there, can you tell us what sort of device the tv is your connecting your smart box to? we would need to double check if it is compatible for the HDMI port, if you have another tv in the room try that and check if its the television causing the issue.
