Is NowTV available as a download for Nvidia Shield Set Top Box ?

Does anybody know if the NowTV App is available as a download for the 'Nvidia Shield Box' as i'm very tempted to upgrade as Plex is not properly supported on the NowTV box - Also if anybody has the Nvidia Shield box with the Plex Media Server App installed, could you tell me if it has the option to 'View By Folder' as this option is missing from some versions and is very important for my personal setup.

Casting from Pixel phone now working for me too. On Shield Experience 5.2 if that makes a difference

This may not be applicable to your setup, but if you are using a BT Router then make sure the smart setup feature on the Router is disabled.

Here's a link with instructions on how to switch off smart setup on BT Routers.

Obviously ignore this post if you are using a different branded Router, but the above information may come in useful for BT customers having problems casting.

Cheers, but no, we don't use a BT router, would not be able to take the load and number of devices in my house. Thanks though!

Is the NowTV now fully supported on the Nvidia Shield? I use NowTV player on HTPC (Windows) but looking to get a Nvidia Shield, will this work ok by downloading the app from google? Thanks

Apologies for bringing this old thread back up, but I recently purchased a Shield and 9 times out of 10 I can cast Now TV with no issues. 

I'd still like to see proper Android TV/NVidia Shield support though.

Hi JK

I don't have a dog in this race but it seems to me that the "Nvidia Shield" is a niche market in the UK, you can correct me on this because I don't really know.

However, it looks like Now TV will not make an app for something that only occupies a small specialised market area, simply because there will not be much of a return on their investment.  Again, I could be wrong here but from a business perspective there would be no point in pouring money into a niche market unless there was a chance of fully exploiting that particular market.

Also, I'm sure you know that Sky/Now TV are somewhat reluctant to support android TV products, and Nvidia Shield runs android.

Nevertheless, we all live in hope and one day they could just produce that app you've been waiting for.
