I'm attempting to stream Sky Sports via Now Tv App on iPad/Chromecast. During every advert break, the rotating logo appears, then the stream stops and the 'Ready to cast' screen is shown. I then have to select and start the stream again.
It's very annoying. I've tried restarting everything - router, chromecast, ipad, app etc., checked all connections (not that I've changed any) to no avail. The same thing happens on all three Chromecasts in my house, connected to various TV's.
Any ideas on how to resolve this problem, or is an update to the app going to be rolled out soon?

Thought this glitch had been fixed on Friday night - I managed to watch all of the Sheffiedl derby without interruption.
But it's back. Every break sees the connection broken and I have to recast to the Chromecast. PLEASE FIX!
Another days F1 viewing spoiled by the Chromecast disconnect bug. Someone in Sky obviously knows what is causing this so why not roll back software to the last stable version. Really not fair on your subscribers.

That's all well and good Karl but this problem has been going on since the beginning of October and not only has it not been resolved but you have many customers who have paid for a service which is not being delivered...your customer service dept should be offering some form of recompense to all those who have been affected...
I have tried to get in touch thru your chat line but it has never worked....also expressd by other members...I have asked your NOW TV helpteam to pass me on to your customer services but have been refused. I cannot speak to anyone or get any feedback...I have to say that the service I and many others have received is the worst I have experienced in many many years...in actual fact it is a shambles...
What I dont understand is that when I first bought my pass to watch the Ryder Cup at the end of September there was no problem...it only manifested itself at the beginning of October...why can you not simply go back to the point you were at when all was working fine...
You cannot imagine how frustrating it is that at every commercial break I and many others have to log back in and reset the stream...often more than once in the same commercial break...it is just unnaceptable....I am seriously considering getting in touch with BBC Watchdog to see if they can take up the mantle and get some answers and resolution...I have put in a complaint to your complaints team (at the end of October) but have not had any resoonse or acknowledgement..it is just not good enough...I am not sure whether NOW TV/Sky really understand the meaning of custoemer service ...
I love how they say "...if you are affected, you just need to start the stream again and the viewing should continue." sounds so simple.
During last weekends F1 coverage (Fri-Sun) I had to start the stream again fifty times!

Hi, this is still happening, watching now tv from an iPad or an iPhone via chrome cast and the stream disconnects during every set of adverts, at the beginning and end of the advert break. It does not cut out during the programme just every advert break. Prior to October this did not happen. Do you have a solution?

NowTV have recognised there is an issue and working on a fix, where they have posted this on the main community forum page.
Im having the exact same issues, you get 4 devices on your account, 1 of my devices in on the smart TV which streams all ok but you are completely right about the chromecast issue, I have 2 chromecasts in different houses and I stream and every ad break while watching sky sports does the exact same thing, the logo spins in the middle of the screen and then goes to the stand by screen saver for you to connect again, its so annoying.
Ive contacted Now TV numerous times and they say do the whole trouble shooting tips everytime, I dont get any issues with the chromecast with Netflix or youtube etc, its a NOW TV glitch that has only just started happening.

I'm having exactly the same issue here... and I'm glad to have stumbled on this thread, as I've wasted some considerable time troubleshooting my equipment/network/settings since I've failed so far to get a response from NowTV as to whether this was a known issue.
- It only started happening in the last week or two.
- As others have mentioned, it seems to happen at the transition INTO or OUT of the commercial breaks (ie. just after the ad break starts, or sometimes just before the ad break ends)... although I guess it could be one particular advert that is failing to stream.
- The Chromecast device itself gives the spinning dots / buffering icon in the middle of the screen for a few seconds, then it gives up & drops back to the "NowTV ready to cast"-type screen.
I've tried to email NowTV but got a bounced email notification. I also tried online chat, but that wasn't working for me!
Anyway, I have some further information that may be of use in solving this...
I also use the NowTV Player on Windows 10 (the standalone one, not the Windows Store app). Around the same time the Chromecast issue started happening, the Windows player also seems to have started crashing periodically. I don't use it all that often, so I don't recall if every crash was at the start/end of ad breaks, but the last few certainly were. When it crashes, it seems to cause a graphics driver failure/restart in Windows.
I can't say for certain this is related to the Chromecast issue, but it seems quite likely, given I've used both the Chromecast & the Windows player for some time without issue before they both started acting up at a similar time.
It is getting very annoying having to keep re-casting at each commercial break, and the repeated crashing of the Windows app is troubling. As someone else commented, if this isn't resolved soon I will be requesting some form of compensation for the constant inconvenience.
Please can @Tony-D or anyone else from the NowTV team pass on that additional information above, and provide an update from the dev team on when we can expect this issue to be resolved.
I'm having the exact same issue.
Streaming is fine during the main broadcast and when a Sky/NowTv advert is being shown.
I'd hazard a guess that Sky are trying to show regional based adverts. I.e similar to what ITV do but it's breaking the stream.
It's damm annoying to keep restarting the stream multiple times during advertising breaks not that I really want to watch the adverts.
