Welcome to the forum. While it's too late for you now, if you use again it might be worth trying the trial update to the player as mentioned here

to to see if it works better for you. Or look at the list of other supported devices to see if you have any you could use instead.
Unfortunately only the movie pass can be watched on YouView boxes , not entertainment, kids or sports.
