Now tv smart box

I have just ordered the new now tv smart box and you get free freeview channels on it. Does any one know do you need the tv aeriel to have the channels once set up?

If you want to watch the Freeview channels then you will need a TV aerial permanently connected to the smart box.

BTW you can use the smart box without a TV aerial and just connect the box to the internet, but you won't receive or be able to watch the Freeview TV or Radio channels.

Without a TV aerial you can still use the apps such has BBC IPlayer, ITV Hub, All4 and Demand 5 via your internet connection.

Can you also access any passes you have such as entertainment or movies without having an aerial?

Yes, the smart box will work fine (over the internet) without a TV aerial not connected you only miss out on the Freeview TV & Radio channels.
