Authentication issues and other problems using the forum

There are a number of issues I encounter when using the forum, associated with posting, replying and moving around the forum, including authentication errors, difficulty logging out or remaining logged in, etc.
 
I'm mostly using a third gen iPad model number MD328B/A running iOS 9.3.5 accessing via Safari or Chrome. Issues are intermittent, don't always happen all the time, don't always happen when doing the same tasks.



If anyone has similar issues and would like to document what happens and when, maybe providing screenshots where poss, please feel free to reply. 



Alternately if if you have similar issues feel free just to leave a 'me too' message.

Any news i am really starting to get hacked off now using your Forum Software for posting messages with the dreaded Authentication Errors.

 

The amount of times and effort drafting up a message then it's totally lost and can not be retrieved is becoming a joke Smiley Mad

Hey, don't get too heated over this "Authentication Errors" nonsense, I know it's annoying but I'm sure you have other things going for you than getting "overly excited" over this.

 

In the meantime, when my ###### is being kicked by these "errors", I type out my stuff in NotePad and then copy and paste into this forum, it only takes a few seconds and is usually fast enough to complete  before the dreaded "Authentication Errors" reappears.

Hi @schnapps,

 

I'm really sorry about that it must be driving you round the bend. 

 

I've shared your feedback with our platform provider to try and get across just how frustrating this is becoming. 

 

They have come right back to me, stating they are working on this today and will keep me updated - I'll update you as soon as I have anything back.

Hi All,

 

A quick update on this - We've just had an update to say the issue has been reviewed and is now being dealt with by the level 2 specialist team & the issue is being treated as urgent. I know it's not the biggest news but it does seem progress is being made now. I'll keep you updated here.

A change has been made on the backend and they would like to see if this is changed anything for you?

 

Can I ask you to let me know if it happens again today? If it does can I ask you to make a note of the time so I can share this with them?

@Simon-J Not had any authentication issues when posting yet, but after posting just now I lost my profile/notifications/messages icons making it look like I was logged out, replying to this message (14:47) required entering login details again.

 

Step in the right direction? 🙂

@Simon-J Had a quick play and apart from tiny blip mentioned previously seems to be working fine. Can't speak for the others but if it stays like this then I'm happy.

Thanks for that! I've given them this feedback now. Hopefully this will point to what's causing the issue!

@Simon-J As usual spoke too soon, so clicking on your post to read it (15:17ish) brought up error message, which was repeated each time I went back and tried to read again, so in the end I had to force quit the browser. On opening (where browser will load last paid viewed) prompted to sign in again in order to view.

Replying to this message (15:21) brought up the usual pink authentication error message after typing a few words, and I will now need to log back out again and back in in order to try to finish this post off and post successfully.

So it did work well for a while, and seems an improvement, but something still not right. Anyway, do appreciate you chasing it all up on top of everything else you have on your plate.

Argghh. Thanks for this Andy, I'll update the case to let them know it's still doing the same thing. Thanks for providing as much detail as you have. Fingers crossed we can (finally) get to the bottom of this.
