how to add BT sports to Now membership

Is it possible to add BT Sports to NowTV Sky Sports?

Is the only option to pay £25 for BT Sports in separate app?

Expected to be able to pay say another £10 to get Sky Sports AND BT sports in the NowTV app

Hi @thehomme

UK NOW customers can't have a NOW Sky Sports subscription and BT Sports subscription lumped together.

Republic of Ireland customers have the option to take a NOW Sky Sports Membership and Sports Extra Membership (ie BT Sports and Premier Sports) on their NOW account.

Where us UK NOW customers have to subscribe separately to NOW Sky Sports and BT Sports and use their respective Apps.

Hi @thehomme

Forgot to mention if you are a BT TV customer then they do offer a combined BT Sports and NOW Sky Sports package.

Thanks. I don't have any TV boxes (nor want one). I got pulled in by the £25 Now offer thinking I'd get ALL the Premier games only to find out they're split between Sky and BT. I never realised BT had exclusive access to games... I always thought BT had rights to show some games Sky covered and that's why BT Sports was cheaper. 25 for Sky and 25 for BT is too expensive

I'm wondering if you can use VPN to access ROI deal? It's incredibly frustrating that these things exist for some but not others - makes no sense other than cynical price gouging which winds people up even more. No wonder people turn to pirate streams

Hi @thehomme

Like many other streaming services NOW are starting to clampdown on the use of VPN's when not in the correct account region you are based from.

Who is your ISP, where perhaps a company like BT or EE or another ISP offers discounted BT Sports and NOW Sky Sports packages, though you will be tied into a contract most probably.

ISP is Virgin. There's a Volt Ultimate which gives me Broadband + Sky Sports + BT Sports + Netflix + O2 SIM for £85 p/month and I currently pay £36 Broadband £20 Vodafone SIM + £10 Netflix + £25 Now/Sky Sports which totals £91 p/month. So I guess that's worth considering as I could save £6 p/month AND get BT Sport. But I don't want a home phone and I don't really want O2 mobile. Plus it's an 18 month contract.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi @thehomme

Premier League football is expensive to watch when there are three official UK broadcasters involved (Sky Sports, BT Sports , Amazon Prime).

I have a friend over in New Zealand and they get about 300 plus live Premier League games a year for around $60 a month which is around £30/m.

Have you tried negotiating with Virgin Media Retentions Dept on the best deal they can offer you ?

I don't know how the Virgin, BT and Sky Satellite compare against each other, where I haven't looked into it where for me I am pretty happy with just NOW Broadband and NOW Sky Sports for the amount of football I watch.

I do have a yearly Amazon Prime Membership, but might knock it on the head come Feb 2023 when my next payment is due and because of their price increase I may just subscribe to their monthly streaming plan whenever there is Premier League or Rugby Autumn Nations on Prime Video I want to watch.
