Sports on Demand

Just fired up my Youview Box NowTV App and Fire Stick NowTV App and from the NowTV Home Screen Sports on Demand is now available which is great news.

According to this NowTV linked article below NowTV Sports on Demand is now available on all NowTV supported playback devices apart from the Apple TV generation 2 & 3 boxes.

Just need Sports on Demand to be bumped up to 50fps, plus the remaining five Sky Sports live channels to provide 50fps with a Boost Pass and i will be happy.

Wholly agree with these sentiments 1080p/50fps on all Sports Content live or replay is essential. Maybe pressure needs to be applied in the not too distant future if this isn't forthcoming in the next few months. I shall be annoyed if it doesn't appear by the middle of this year.

Am I right in thinking that on demand before was only for the month pass? 

If so then it’s great to hear they have applied it to the day pass as well.

I am not one hundred percent sure, where I thought you could access sports on demand with either a day or full blown month sports pass previously before (might be wrong though). 

And its the Bonus Sports Streams that requires the full blown month sports pass which is still the case.

You are most likely right, haven’t had a sports pass in a while, but I could have swore that on demand content was available to an extent for month pass. Albeit not in the straight forward manner as it is now.

As I do briefly remember sometimes having to “search” for what the content would be and then being able to watch it in some way. Could be completely wrong!

I’ve been busy last couple of days and only just seen this change in the app much appreciated and the look of the FireTV app slightly change.

Glad I don’t need to use my phone now for watching F1 Qualifying on demand later this month. Hopefully 50FPS for the remaining 5 channels and On Demand content comes later this year.

Fired up my Roku Stick Plus for the first time since this update on the 5th of March 2021 and the Roku Player does have Sports on Demand, though it's selective limited content and doesn't have the separate sports categories sections such has Rugby Union, Rugby League etc like other NowTV devices.

I am guessing this is because the NowTV App jumps into the old style UI layout and doesn't have the main NowTV front end home page like other supported devices, which is why i am assuming Roku Players to date don't offer Bonus Sports Streams as well.

Not a biggie for me because i tend to use my Amazon 4K Fire Stick & Youview 4K box nowadays for the majority of my streaming / TV watching and my Roku Stick Plus is restricted to movie duties only in my Home Theatre Projector Room

Ive always been surprised phones don’t support Extra Streams or NowTV Boost.

I am more old school and always watch sports on a television screen.

Maybe with the amount of confusion with a NowTV Mobile Sports Pass, NowTV didn't want to confuse matters even further with Bonus Sports Streams and HD Boost which is not available when using a NowTV Sports Mobile Pass (just conjecture on my part).

You will be surprised how many people get in a pickle when using the Mobile Sports Pass.

Oh I use my TV as well glad my Firestick gives the full experience but just always made me curious that people on iPads for instance couldn’t watch bonus streams

Maybe it will come on a future NowTV road map (to be honest i have no idea why it's omitted).
