Sky sports 2021/22

Hi

Does anybody know if the £25 will still be available for Sky Sports when the new football season starts?

Wait until August, but latest offer is £20/month, so fingers crossed it may be as good as that.

I have had this deal for a couple of seasons - Once I paid up

front, but last year I was charged monthly.

Contacted help desk yesterday who:

a) offered me a three month deal (but the contact understood when I declined on the basis that I did not wanted to be stuck in a three month deal, and thereby locked out of new deals, during the offer period of a season deal.

and

b) that, it is still too early and once the deal is available I will probably get an email, though I should keep checking the offers page.

Sounds exactly the same as last year and the timing is good as I don’t want the deal to start until the season kicks off.

Any news on deals like previous seasons?

Any deals will on your account only. Recently I had an email offer for £25 a month for 3 months.

Absolutely. Offers are personal.
As soon as one of gets the email, we should post that we have had the email.
Those who do not then get a personalised email can:
a) Check the published offers
and
if there is nothing there.
b) Contact the Help Chat line who will probably make you an offer.

It is just a question of waiting for the emails to arrive. I suppose there might not be an offer this year, but when I turned down a three month offer (explaining I didn’t want to be locked out of the season offer as you can’t take up an new offer whilst you already have one running), my contact said he entirely understood my strategy.
Gave me the impression he thought there would be a season offer as his alternative answer was to say ‘maybe you should think about the three month offer as there may not be a season offer’, but he knew I was a regular for the season offer and didn’t try to b**ls**t me.

@JohnDorset

There hasn't been a season offer since pre COVID.

Even with the last season there wans't a season offer. At best its the 3 month discounts that will vary between £25 and £25.

Both of which for me are far too steep to make me consider taking out sports.

Sorry there was an offer last season. I signed up for 9 months for £180, which was billed monthly at £20 per month. At the end of the offer, when I cancelled the monthly auto renew, I was given a three month offer which I declined because I did not wish to be locked out of this season’s offer. Also received a three month offer the other week.

The previous season I made a single payment and they extended the validity beyond the contracted end date to the date of the premier league matches.

The big difference for me between the two deals was that in 2019/20 I was able to cancel the auto renew pretty much immediately whereas in 2020/21 I could not do that until the last monthly payment was taken.

Sorry you missed out last year, but, as you can see from my detailed description, there was definitely a deal last year.

@JohnDorset

What I was getting at with the "season" offers is that they used to be bulk payments where you paid 12 months of sport for £xx.

Whereas as all that NOW offer are discounted monthly prices where you are charged monthly.

And that brings me back to my previous point of pre COVID. As pre COVID during black friday you were able to bulk pay for sports.

Since COVID it is just monthly payments for 3/6/9 months. Purely to save them paying out large chunks of money in refunds.

True, but it was a full season offer at £20 albeit payable monthly.

For the benefit of other readers of this thread, I offer the as proof that there were season offers last year.

This is the main body of the email I received on 2nd September 2020, with the offer last year which I immediately accepted.

“Don’t miss out
Save over 40% today

It’s time to get that excitement brewing as the Premier League is back! With a busy transfer window, plus a certain Lionel Messi rumour, which team will stamp their mark and gun for the trophy in May? There’s only one way to find out...
Grab your Sky Sports Month Pass offer for just £33.99 £20 p/m for 9 months today.
Offer available until 8 September”

This is the confirmation I received after I took up the offer:

“Hi John,

Let the entertainment begin! Here’s what you bought…

Your Order details
Order date:
Wed 2 Sep 2020
Sky Sports Month Pass
£20.00
Catch the action from 11 Sky Sports channels including Premier League football.

Today’s payment £20”

And when, in month 9, having paid £180 at a rate of £20 per month, I cancelled the auto renewal I got this email.

“Hi John,

We hope you’ve enjoyed watching the biggest sporting action with us. But you’ve now cancelled your NOW Sports Membership. You can carry on watching Sky Sports contract-free until Wed 2 Jun 2021. “
