Poor F1 quality streaming through TV

Our steaming is dropping on Now TV F1 live, we have reported it a couple of days ago as it did it on the live matches for example Chelsea V Westham, after doing all they suggested on live chat, they are have reported to the technical team and we were to be contacted with 48 hours, 72 hours later nothing and now watching F1 and still the same issue, why does NOW TV believe it is our problem regarding the streaming when I have other services with all the whistle and no problems!, I am fed up with this does anyone else feel the same, thank you.

Thanks for replying, I am not the only one then, so why do they not do anything about it, we are paying for Boost too and use other Live Streaming service like BT Sports and no issues!  Have you reported it to.

Same, it’s definitely the bandwidth of NOWTV servers not maximising output for the level of concurrent users. I have zero problems ever with any other Apps or even Sky Movies / box sets...

Come on NOWTV upgrade your data centre bandwidth, it’s been over a year we’ve been having these problems and your response always being ‘try Ethernet or reset your hub’… it’s you, not us.

Same problem here.  This has been going on for weeks.  Come on NowTV you need to sort this!

Same here, really poor same on footy tv.  BT, Amazon, Netflix etc all else fine just now tv.

Same for me.  Buffering happens only with NowTV and not other apps such as Netflix.  I think NowTV need to refund charges until they are able to sort it out.

Same here.  Football is so blurry every 5\10 mins on Samsung TV.

I spent over 40mins onto Avila on the unhelpful desk!

He said he was sorting it and then cut my chat for no reason.

I have had no email back as they just do not care.

Hi all, I have just had an email from NOW TV, saying it has been reported to higher technical team they are aware of the issues, even though it seems like it has been a issue for some time.  I asked them to look at the forum as other customer have the same issues, compensation was mentioned but I asked them to resolve first!

I received several emails going over all the things we all try and result I got an offer of compensation ………………………..£6

£6 are you serious? I take this as a we don’t care about your custom and will now be leaving Now, what an absolute farce this really is, if it wasn’t so hilarious of an offer I would be livid, good luck everyone you are all valued customer hahahaha

If you feel unhappy with the reply on compensation, you might as well complain to customer support. Address in below picture.

I'm just getting pixels on my LG TV, can watch other channels fine though. Yet the F1 channel works fine on the xbox one app. Seems very strange.

Do you have boost?

Although boost 50fps isn’t supported on LG TVs

Is your TV Ethernet or Wi-fi connection?
Have you tried to delete and reinstall the app?

It’s worth unplugging your TV and router for a few minutes to refresh the connections.

It's been spot on in HD through my NowTV Smart box. My connection is just 6MB.

It's terrible in the Windows 10 app though, which seem more to do with the app itself being dismal.

Same connection - different result and devices were not in use at the same time.

My experiences are similar to game consoles vs PC's. A console (like a Smart box) is a fixed spec so is easier to optimise for, but PC's vary in spec. Also, Roku are clever folks.

Thanks for the reply. I'm on Wifi connection, will have to try unplugging the TV; must admit I've not tried the hard reset. I have removed and reinstalled the app, to no avail. Thanks once again for the suggestions. 🙂

Are you able to hardwire the TV with a Ethernet cable?

Not for the first time the streaming quality for Sky F1 coverage was falling from 4830 to 90 every couple of minutes this afternoon. I have a Samsung SMART TV and nothing wrong with my wi-fi set-up (all other wi-fi apps were working fine), nor broadband speed. Sometimes the problem cleared itself within 10 secs., most times I had to switch channel and back again to clear it. I've tried to contact NOW's online customer chat service ... but no response, so have left a complaint.

From the other comments that have been left, it seems that this is a whole bigger issue for NOW TV. Hopefully they will resolve it soon ... like in time for us to enjoy tomorrow's race buffer-free!!!

For 3 weeks I have been in a convoluted email “battle” with tech support to try and address this issue.

I have 200Mbps internet from VirginMedia.

I am having problems with horribly pixelated F1 (and other channels) on appleTV and other devices.

I’ve tested (speedtest app) my internet connection on the affected device on several occasions immediately after the picture blurs and have never had a test result less than 150Mbps. I’ve sent the technical team multiple screenshots showing poor picture but excellent internet speed.

Despite this, the technical team has just sent me a long email that can be summed up as “try turning it off and on again” and “it’s not our problem it’s your ISP”.

Seems like my ISP works with Amazon, Disney, Netflix and YouTube gives me a reliable and sharp HD or even 4K picture but for some reason NOW TV and my ISP can’t provide a reliable and sharp 720 feed… and according to NOW TV it’s not their problem.

It is highly frustrating, I don’t expect anyone on here to be able to help but the more people report the terrible quality the more chance there is that NOW TV might finally accept that the common factor in all these complaints is THEM.
