No live sports - subscription extension?

Given the cancellation of all live Sport, has Now TV (Sky Sports) announced any extensions to paid subscriptions? I have not received any communication at all at a time when any ethical business is looking after its customers so am curious if I have missed a message. If not, then please step up Sky Sports/Now TV.

rumours that the PL want to put a lot of the fixtures on terrestrial television to 'lift the mood of the nation'. If that happens, sky won't be in a position to make money!

BT & Sky still get the fixtures that they are contracted for, so all the top 6 games plus relegation battle. Will be just mid-table games elsewhere.

I have come on here to ask the same question having paid upfront last August.

will it be extended?
however, my guess is they will play the card that they will still show every game/event when it restarts.

if this is the case I for one will never take out another sports voucher.

Now TV has not announced anything relating to Covid-19 and sports. At most Now TV will say that you can cancel at anytime.

If you want some form of confirmation or extension you are best to fill out this form.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

Given that their “Live Chat” is unavailable they should have automatically extended any offer that their customers are on. Poor customer service as usual from NowTV when you can’t even contact them. Alternatively you can phone their helpline and be charged £6 a minute for the privilege!!

Fully agree. I did find a web form so submitted this and got a response. “The best we can do is a £20 credit. Are you satisfied with that?” No. I took it and it will apply to another pass that is active. Then I cancelled sky sports. Sky is a disgrace as is Now TV (part of Sky to be clear). Brands will live and die as a result of how they treat customer during this pandemic and this lot have failed miserably.

Thanks for your message.
I’ve always had issues with them. I have the NowTV app on my Smart TV and it always crashes. So I have to stream it from my phone to my tv via Chromecast.
Also, if you try the “Live Chat” that always crashes too. I tried that a dozen times at the beginning of the Lockdown but the screen always froze mid-sentence. They really are shocking with their customer service and obviously take no notice of the feedback we give them.

Due to lack of communication, we’ve just cancelled our 10 month pass.  Will never buy one again.

In theory we were into out last month, so something should have changed ie. extra month added but all that appeared was apply another voucher. So Now tv could not be trusted to take £33,99 when the time comes.

I don’t blame you one bit. Pity there isn’t another similar company out there that is able to provide good customer service. If it did exist it would blow NowTV out of the water.

It’s really poor isn’t it? Some companies are really looking after customers right now and we will remember which ones do and don’t!

I hope so, but unfortunately many people have short memories..

I won’t.  I will just look at who makes the best offer at the time regardless. And inevitably Now TV will provide movies, sports and entertainment cheaper than Sky or BT or Virgin.  Besides In my opinion Now TV is doing pretty well with movies and entertainment right now and sport is simply outside their control.

I'm sure they will terminate my sky sports pass on June 9th as 'My Account' shows. However what I purchased was a 'Sky Sports Season Pass' which was targeted specifically at Football fans for the 19/20 Premier league season.

The season is not finished, it's supposed to resume on June 12th. I feel like they should automatically extend every purchase to resume coverage if and when the season returns.

But I don't believe for a moment they will.

Theres money to be made. I'm sure somewhere in the small print there's an easy get out clause for them, also they know we'll have no choice but to buy again if we want to watch. A case of show me the money.

I'd love you to prove me wrong Sky Sports/Now TV.

And there's still no word despite there being a restart date penciled in by the prem. Also, it seems we have no way of reasonably contacting anyone from now/sky sports to discuss with them what they're intending to do.

You can't tell me that there's no way they couldn't enable (or continued to run) the 'chat' function to give their customers a line of communication, they just don't want us to be able to get in touch to demand answrrs and or resolution.

At the very least they should be emailing everyone who purchased an affected package to tell them what they intend to do.

I also have the Now Tv Season Ticket pass. On 5th May Now Tv sent me an email stating my Pass will be extended for another  month , free of  charge. This is also indicated on my Bills & Payments page, where it says I will pay £0.00 on 2nd June for a Sky Sports Month Pass. The email also said unless Now Tv get in touch with further extensions (I predict they will), the Pass will auto renew in July for £33.99. I think for the time being, this is clear enough .

I had the same email on 12 May, however nothing since the resumption of the league was officially announced. My season pass in My Account says 'next offer will start on 9 June', so I'm assuming that is the auto-renewal indicated in the email. Thanks NOWTV, fingers crossed!

I don't get all the negative comments. I got in touch with NOW TV and told them I had two months still to go on a three month deal and they got back to me after about a week, and they were apologetic about the delay, and gave me two one-month sport passes without question which will expire in 2025!!! I think it must be the tone when people complain they would rather not get in touch with generic Mr. Angry. Surely people can see that if you're nice then people are nice to you. Just saying. No complaints NOW TV. Keep up the good work. Stay safe everyone.

Agree totally. It’s pretty poor in terms of customer service. Thanks for getting in touch and hope you are well!

@Anonymous User thanks for the message. Nice to know that people are still trying find answers, even if none are forthcoming.

I think, in this case, it may be time to go to Plan B and contact the Ombudsman, making sure that they are aware of the following:

1. Customers are still being charged for a service that is providing nothing.

2. Now TV have been the opposite of helpful by proving no information on what is happening.

3. Now TV have closed online chat and are deliberately making it as difficult as possible to ask for solutions.

4. The conduct of Now TV is nothing short of theft and they should be held accountable.

1.  All the sports channels are broadcasting, all that has gone is live sport

2. They have sent emails to those with season passes to state they will be extended

3. They are unable to have live chat but you can raise a complaint and it will be answered.

4. Apart from those with season passes, people can cancel immediately.  Furthermore, those with formula 1 passes have been refunded. I have got 3 single month passes to compensate for the 2 months remaining on my 3 month pass as of 15 March.

I can’t see what ombudsman would do.
