Palace v Arsenal - Sky Showcase - Friday 5 August KO 8pm
Free with an entertainment membership trial. In HD with 50fps if you get the boost trial as well.
Or just part of your entertainment membership if you already have it. Or on Sky Sports with Sports membership. In HD with 50fps if you have boost.
Not to be missed whatever way you choose to view 🙂

Hi @SweetBlitz
From my experience, even if you have Boost with NOW Entertainment and watch Sports on the live Sky Showcase channel it will still be 25fps 😡.
When you compare a football match with Boost on live Sky Showcase compared to live Sky Sports with Boost it should look much better on the Sky Sports channels.
If you have both NOW Entertainment and NOW Sports with Boost and a 50fps supported NOW playback device, then maybe do a test on Friday during the match if you can see a noticeable difference or not.

@schnapps Ah I thought all live channels were 50fps nowadays. So all I get with Boost on Cinema/Entertainment for live channels are a couple of extra streams and HD. Are the on demand movies/shows 50fps?
Anyway, I signed up with Virgin for Sky Sports until mid November so will record and watch tonight’s game at my leisure in HD.

Ah, the joys of live sport, recorded. 😉

Hi @SweetBlitz
When I did a comparison between the football on live Sky One in the past and the same match on Sky Sports channels with my Boost Membership the Sky One live channel when streaming live sports was definitely 25fps and the same sports event on Sky Sports channels was definitely 50fps a noticeable difference to my eyes.
I am going to test both Sky Showcase and Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League with tonight's football match but I doubt nothing has changed.
My understanding is that NOW Cinema and Entertainment is 25fps and 1080p with Boost where the content has the HD icon symbol for both live and on Demand stuff.
I have never seen NOW on either BT or Virgin Media so not sure of the frame rate (I have a sneaky feeling BT via their live EPG might be 50fps).
I might be wrong, because I find it more difficult to differentiate between 25fps and 50fps with regards to Cinema and Entertainment, where fast moving Sports such has for example football I can easily see the difference and improvement with 50fps on Sports.
