F1 2020 on NowTV. What do we want?

What do we want to see from NowTV F1 in 2020 ?

I'd want a stand alone HD app with live and catch up at a maximum of £10 per month.

Just heard from a friend that works in F1 - that Vietnam is at the very least a closed door event... possibly even cancelled.

Well, it looks like for people who didn't buy Now TV pass yet, there's still uncertainty since Melbourne might not happen at all...at this point Now TV should make some official statement and tell us what they think they're gonna do...

This weekend has been cancelled according to the BBC. So I've just cancelled my Now TV season pass. Got full refund as within 14-day cooling off period.

In the latest T&C's, they will provide an extra weeks pass for each races are scheduled later in the year. But if half the races are cancelled, I'd rather have a refund!

This has been updated on the headline description.

> Watch every race guaranteed with a FREE Sky Sports Week Pass for any race postponed.

Then in the detailed terms and conditions, One FREE Sky Sports Week Pass for each race postponed, not applicable for cancelled races.

Race 1 Australia Cancelled.

Not looking good.

Can we just get an undertaking that we can pay £10/race for whole weekend, starting with 1st Practice until final Teds Padddock?

Not willing to gamble £198 quid and get a season of nothing burgers.

If F1 are cool with quitting the Australian GP just 10 hours before the start of 1st practice, when all the teams and equipment are already there then I'd say this season is done before it's even started.

I'm not saying they were wrong to cancel it, but it says a lot when you take a moment to consider how much money went up in smoke in that one decision.

The Vietnam GP WILL be next to go and the corona virus pandemic is only going to get worse. Holland closed all its schools today, I shouldn't think they are worried about hosting a GP. It's a major problem in most of Europe and will be truly worldwide before the end of the season.

I believe re-scheduling missed races will be impossible, as I think most of the races will face bigger problems than the one cancelled today and there simply wont be time to re-schedule them all before the start of the 2021 season.

This a colossal mess which someone at Liberty Media should have identified earlier.

I'm getting my Scalextric out of the loft as its probably the only racing I'm going to see this year.

Stay safe everyone, stay 2 meters away from each other and keep washing your hands.

22 week passes - that's a bargain.

One FREE Sky Sports Week Pass for each race postponed, not applicable for cancelled races

Err, maybe not!

How did you go about cancelling the season pass and getting the refund?

I think the cancel pass button on your account just stops the renewal (??) so it’s better to contact their customer services within 14 days to actually get a refund.

Sweet, spoke to someone on live chat and they refunded me the full amount.

What options did you choose to get a real person? I tried and got lost in bot hell - gave up in the end through frustration!

I did:

Now TV passes > Cancelling or renewing NOW TV Passes > How to get in touch > Chat online. The chat online button didn't always work but did work on my iPhone

How did you manage to get someone to give you a refund? Had you activated the pass? I can see I have a fight on my hands to get a refund as they have refused me even though it’s only been 5days since I purchased.

I don't know if my pass was activated or not, but it showed started on my passes details. However, I hadn't watch anything yet????

During the chat, I simply said because of coronavirus cancelled F1, I changed my mind and the person was pretty understanding. Maybe there's a sudden rush of cancellations and they've gotten stricter on this?

I'm on with live support trying to cancel now. They cannot possibly expect to hold onto our money for an entire season when we have no idea when it will start.

If they won't issue a refund I will dispute it through Amex. They are pretty good at taking the customer's side in issues such as this.

I just posted a transcript of a conversation in live chat regarding a refund and someone from nowtv has already deleted it.

The upshot of it was that they are not being at all helpful when it comes to refunds.

to NowTV:

If you offer something for sale and it becomes unavailable you should refund the customer.

Simple as that.

If I order a toaster online and the retailer says its out of stock they would refund me. This is the same.

The fact you sold sport to us and now that sport is unavailable isn't our fault.

How you act here will decide weather I and others use your services again in the future.

And before you say you cant refund because I activated the pass, of course i activated the pass. I watched a small amount of content from last years season (THAT I HAD ALREADY PAID YOU FOR VIEWING LAST YEAR) as a prelude to this seasons entertainment that now appears wont happen.

THIS IS NOT JUSTIFICATION FOR NOT REFUNDING.

They did and said the same to me, send a complaint email in and with a couple of days they refunded me

Now that the F1 season start has been confirmed I would like to buy the F1 Season Pass.  I can't see how to order it.  Is it available now/yet?

The links and pages are starting to appear, the pass is not currently up yet though.

The original season pass £198 / 22 races = £9 per race.

For the first 8 races starting 5th July to 6th September can be covered with 2 x sports month passes if you break after the first British GP and start again 7th August in time for qualifying for the second British GP.

So £34 x 2 = £68 for 8 races, works out at £8.50 per race.

At this stage, no one really knows what will happen after these European races are done so I can't see how we nor Now TV can commit to a season pass. We'd be back in the mess in March where everyone wants their money back.

A nice gesture of goodwill would be a discount to those who originally purchased a season pass or some promotion if up-take is low, but with a only a 2 month season confirmed, there's not a huge scope for discounting.

Anyone still without a refund and waiting for a free week pass for each rescheduled event will likely get a bad deal as I can't see 22 races being done before the 2021 season has to start.
