Hi @Anonymous User

Unfortunately at the moment there is no BT Sport on the NowTV service Smiley Sad.

There is a cross supply agreement between BT & NowTV where the BT Sport App is maybe coming to the NowTV boxes & stick.

Where this information is still a little sketchy at the moment and no official date has been confirmed apart from it's apparently going to happen sometime during 2019.

Unfortunately in Sky/BT speak 'the end of the year' will most likely mean mid 2020 going by their track record 😐

You'll notice they say "it is expected...." which is the key phrase here, this is in no way a guarantee, just as "we expect it by mid-2019" when the original announcements were made by both parties.

@Anonymous User @UKTVPlayapp looks like Ireland now have their prices for BT sport confirmed on the Sky Ireland web site. Pretty decent price to get it added, hopefully a similar sort of price for BT on Now TV, but not going to hold my breath considering the sports pass full price is £33.99!

Unless they bundled it in as one and kept the price, cause who actually pays that price?!

Nothing about Now TV Ireland getting BT Sport, is there?

@Anonymous User correct nothing mentioned about Now TV. But the fact they have pricing up for the Sky TV side already is showing the UK is being let down.

@gavs82008

I read somewhere that the Sports Extra Pack in Ireland is on an 18 month contract. Not sure if that was an official comment or not though.

I am not 100% certain that BT Sport will be part of Now TV.  I think BT Sport would do great business with the Now TV model of day/week/month passes especially on champions league weeks but still stick stubbornly to a very restrictive distribution.

@Anonymous User according to the official statement when the deal was announced BT Sport will become available on Now TV.

That being said it might be bundled into the Sports month pass which is a rip off at full price. It might be a separate pass sold by Sky like Hayu. Or the app will allow you to login with your BT account and access it that way.

Either way my EE mobile contract the old Max Plan I can get it for £10 a month on the range of available devices the app is on, so currently I can use it on my Samsung TV. With my mobile I can cancel whenever I want, so effectively I have a month pass for £10 without tying into any long term deals.

The official statement from Sky below. For us in Now TV we are hoping that Sky do something with the Sports passes, so you don't have to get BT Sport through BT in order to view it when it eventually arrives.

It does NOT say Now TV customers will have access to BT Sport explicitly.

@Anonymous User

Yes I know that, but as BT sport will be an add-on pack on Sky TV and sold by Sky, my hope it is that the same will apply to Now TV.

@Anonymous User took some digging but found this comment from a Sky staff member

https://www.boards.ie/ttfthread/2057997128/9

If you are an existing Sky Customer it would require a 12 month contract to avail of the Sky Sports Extra at €10 euro for 6 months and €20 for the remaining 6 months. If you do not wish to go into to contract for your Base TV pack you can avail of the Sky Sports Extra offer of €17 per month for 6 months and then it will revert back to full price at €34 per month.

So I am assuming there are 2 options, one for the typical Sky 12 month contract and another for not being tied into a contract. Or have I picked this up wrong?

@gavs82008

You would be reading that right re contract and contractless. A bit steep though for anyone wanting to avoid going into a contract.

Unlike you guys it's NowTV on BT Youview I'm waiting on. I'm liking the idea of being able to record the Sports channels as I currently do with BT Sport. I would normally record live football and join it 15 minutes late so I can jump directly to the live action in the 2nd half without having to sit through the half time punditry 😉

You make a valid point @Anonymous User when you read this from the link supplied by @gavs82008 Sky customers will be able to access BT Sport through Sky Go as it doesn't mention NowTV.

However, it states here https://www.skygroup.sky/corporate/media-centre/articles/en-gb/sky-and-bt-agree-cross-supply-of-tv-channels BT Sport will also be available as an app on NOW TV boxes.

BT sport may be an app on a now TV box but only in the same way it is an
app on an iPad. No details of subscribing via now TV.

Fair point @Anonymous User I'd never thought of it that way before.

@ken242Simple answer. No one knows and that includes people higher up the food chain than anyone on here. They've run into issues, which have been reported elsewhere as including the lack of 1080p etc for NowTV on BTTV.

The latest comments from moderators on the BT and Sky forum pages were shared on page 8 of this thread where BT have said

Sky and BT are working together so that Sky will be available through NOW TV on BT TV later this year. We’ve not released any specific dates yet and when we do our existing customers will be the first to know

and Sky have said

It's expected that these new services will be available by the end of 2019 - with further announcements expected nearer the time.

So to answer your question, it MIGHT happen before the end of this year, although I wouldn't be holding my breath that will be the case.

There's a thread already running on this possible Boost https://community.nowtv.com/t5/Set-top-boxes-Smart-TVs/Does-Now-TV-Support-HD/m-p/503474#M8255%2Fjum...

What do you mean by "BT are to follow soon"?

@ken242

That's already old news. This has all been posted up here already this past week. Have a look at two posts in particular on page 8 of this thread to get the official word.

BT Sports is still coming to Sky/NowTV and NowTV is still coming to BT customers, it's just no one now knows when. You can expect the date to get pushed back even further as it has done twice now already.
