Sub titles on catch up TV

How can I switch off the sub titles that have started to appear on all programmes on Now catch up TV please?

Welcome to the forum. For NOW TV content subtitles are switched on and off with the * button (same for Freeview channels if you have a Smart TV box). More info here

The process might be different if you are using one of the other apps eg BBC iPlayer has an S option on the playback bar.
