Entertainment Pass Changes: We are losing 3 channels

So let me get this straight,

You are removing 3 channels and you are adding only 1 and you expect us to pay the same amount?!?

How is this fair? You should add at least another channel like  SyFy or AMC.

Had a quick look on Viceland website, doesn't look very promising to me, but will reserve final judgement until I've seen it. I'm dreaming now but would love to see Syfy or Watch maybe, won't be holding my breath though.

So I've just bought a load of Entertainment gift passes (to cover me to Christmas) so that the kids can watch the kids channels and now you're stripping those channels out...? Not a happy Now TV customer. 😞

I had a look on Google at Viceland and the programs listed on it. Some quite frankly sound pornagraphic! Just the titles are not kid friendly, one had f*** in it! I hope these won't be visible to kids.

Really unhappy about this.  The three channels being removed account for about two thirds of the viewing in my household.  Most likely to ditch the entertainment channel and sign up for the kids only.

Also will be checking out kids selection on Netflix and Amazon Prime this is making a good value service much less attractive.

Have a rethink NOW TV and at least reduce the entertainment package accordingly.

I agree with many people here im not happy either.

and while i would agree with some argues about paying for other peoples Kids packages - IF   they were to drop the main price, which they dont appear to be (at least from what i have seen, i could be wrong, i will go back and check later) but in effect its brought the total "package"  cost to nearly £10 + £10 for films + whatever for sports (and while i agree the film package is slightly better than others - i still dont think the "total package" cost is worth 3X the competitions. + Netflix and amazon "sector off" the kids stuff - surely with skys resources they could do somrthing smarter - mind you increasing your revenue some would argue is the smartest thing.

Either way im not particulary happy about another price increase in a few months time.

for those wanting to get good kids channels i have had prime and netflix you can now get both for the same price as now tv entertainment - and the kids stuff along with documentaries are great.

take a look........

The loss of disney is a big one in my house,my daughters are not interested in the other channels. It seems that now tv no longer provides something for everyone at our home.I shall have to look at adding bt tv back on and ditching now tv.

Other than missing the one childrens channel I wanted, I think this is a great deal and don't understand the anger towards the split 🙂

To be honest i'm not going to waste any more time voicing my opinion on this... I will be getting rid of NOW TV and continuing with TV PLAYER once my pass expires.

If people are happy to be penalised for having children and pay more money a month as a result then that's fine, pay more.

Would it not be worth waiting to see what extra channels they are going to be adding into the Entertainment package first to see if it's still worth the money? I know Vice is coming, but the NOWTV help folks on twitter said more "channels" are going to be added.

It is ironic that after people complaining about too much kids content in past, that as soon as it goes people who were happy with kids content start complaining.  I guess they were in a no win situation.

too be honest i wasn't aware people were complaining of too much kids content, so fair enough, valid point.

but...........who moans about too much content? It's not too difficult to filter out the kids stuff,  i would rather have access to content i may not always want, rather than having to pay extra for stuff i do want (and once had at the same cost).

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Now TV is removing the kids channels AND keeping the same price for the entertainment package without any new content. Who did they expect to please with this change?

They've added a new channel, have one coming in the future and the boxset catalogue has grown so much that it broke my script reading all of them.

The entertainment package will have LESS content on June 22nd than it has now.

They are taking three channels away, adding one and promising one more later: I can not possibly see how anyone could claim that keeping the same price is fair.

@Anonymous User whilst there will be a decrease in live TV, the number of boxsets has continued to go up each month, often with content lasting for a lot longer than before.

I'd have expected that if there weren't any changes this year, we'd have seen a pound price rise anyway.

Intead of a pound price increase (that would have been 14% increase) we got 2.99 price increase (that is a 43% increase). Again, I do not see how those percentage increase can possibly be considered fair when inflation is practically zero.

Your £2.99 price increase is including more content though.

I wouldnt have minded it going up, if they'd explained that more content or features was coming, but they did the opposite, I'll be paying the same for less, effectively paying more.

I'm not going to be buying any more passes for NowTV, this is the final straw. Frankly my kids can do without Nick Jr and I'm happy to just buy them the DVD's of the ones they want and rip them to my server and stream to my Apple TV, the creators of the shows probably get more of a cut from that anyway, so I can feel better knowing I'm supporting them more.

Now TV just feels so amateur these days, I'll happily sit there watching Netflix enjoying the Full HD picture and DD 5.1, then switch to Now TV and have to put up with 720p and 2.1 audio (and yes there is a massive differnce when I have my projector on).

I imagine that when 1080p and/or DD 5.1 do come, that's when we'll see a price hike. Or they'll pull a Sky Q and release a new NowTV box that you need to watch it, and then charge more to access the higher quality.

The Entertainment Pass will have fewer live channels and less catch up content.  But it will have more boxsets available for longer.

As the price is remaining the same, this will be an improvement for customers who never watched kids content.  But it will be a loss for people who watched content for both kids and grown-ups on the Entertainment Pass.
