Can I watch NOW TV on my television

I dont think its a smart TV but does have HMDi.

The model is 42LD450-ZA

@Anonymous User @schnapps  That model is an old 42" HD ready set with a DVB-T tuner.  It can play films from a USB stick and that's it.

You can watch NOW TV on that set using numerous external devices, such as a NOW TV Box, Chromecast, Apple TV etc connected to a HDMI port.

We can get Netflix and have a freebox.

I can watch via the computer with the HMDI cable but it hangs up and is very slow

Hi @Anonymous User  do you have a Chromecast?  You can use that plus a mobile to watch Now if you have one.

If it's not a smart TV with the inbuilt NowTV app, then if you have a spare HDMI port on the TV, then see the list of supported NowTV devices on the link page below.

My recommendation (if you don't currently own any devices on the list) would be a NowTV black box with the free voucher pass which you can buy from places like Amazon, Argos etc for about £15 to £20.

I have an iphone and bought a Lightening Digital AV adapter.  I tried it and a message came up that streaming is not allowed on this device

Unfortunately using a HDMI adaptor with an iPhone, ipad or tablet won't work on the TV, hence the reason you are getting the error message.

@Anonymous User  that sounds like something dodgy with the iphone app.  Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it?  Then try casting- to Chromecast (not equivalent).

I havent tried that but I will.

Think I will buy Chromecast as it will do the job on several things.  Just thought NOW tv worked like Netflix from my phone, but doesnt seem to.

@Anonymous User  you'll also be able to watch iplayer and 4OD on the chromecast. 🙂
