Hi Everybody,

I have just added the Halloween Blu-ray to my Love Flim disc rental, due to all this talk on here about John Carpenter.

Haven't seen the movie since it was released on VHS back in the late seventies, i will be interested to check out how the flim transfer looks like on Blu-ray compared to VHS and how the film stands up in the 21st century.

Once the movie arrives, i just need to pluck up the courage to watch the film once again 

I imagine i will have my hands close to my face ready for the scary scenes (That was the way i used to watch horror movies before Freddy came along and put me right off the Horror genre ever since)

@schnapps Well done you pal!! I have the 30th anniversary Bluray ed. and it looks and (particularly) sounds stunning! I'm confident it will have you hiding behind the sofa in glee/terror! Enjoy!

And if you like that, do check out the rest of the series which, whilst suffering from the horror law of diminishing returns, all still stand up as pretty good sequels, in particular I have a very soft spot for 4 and 5. Zombie's remakes suffered a little in revealing too much backstory (which for a boogeyman the less you know the better) but have the novelty value of featuring Danielle Harris from 4 and 5.

There are a few but I have only seen the first one when I had Horror channel.

@caseyb1993 Oh cool, cheers Casey! Just been looking up on Amazon, there's 3 films apparently but the last one is completely separate, a new investigation for L apparently. They seem to have reasonable reviews, might look out on horror channel or pick up DVD if cheap. Even as 2 films they must squeeze shed loads out of it compared to the anime tho!

You know, I originally saw Death Note, live Japanese version, a few years back on TV and I had no idea at the time it was based on an anime or knew anything else about it.  I just thought that it was a good horror film, different from any other I had seen before.

I'm guessing that if the Netflix version follows the live original then it will be something worth watching.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I always think with NOW TV you need a little more patience for features to appear, they have the content but functionality comes at a later date. I like to think of it as a life-lesson, if I show perseverance, patience, meditate on the goal in a quiet room each date and show my commitment to the faith then at the end I will be rewarded with ... the ability to search by actor and director.

Sorry, not sure who exactly on this thread were the Wentworth Prison fans and who came on board when it spun off to a different topic????

Anyway, just to advise that the new sixth season of WP is back on 5Star from 10pm on Saturday 23rd June (an actual show that Channel 5 have decided to continue with...success).

For me..... an excellent show and can't wait for it to start back.... although a Saturday night is a bit different!!!

I do actually still have last seasons finale episode on record on my Youview box and might be catching up on that tonight to remind myself how it finished last year........ lets see how long our runaways can stay away.

Wentworth has to be one of the best shows in years! I wonder if there will be a plot twist one day where Bea is still alive. 😮

Just rewatched the season 5 finale and forgot just how good it was.... and also forgot just what trouble Ferguson was in at the very end!!  Not sure if we'll see her again????

I think Bea coming back might be a twist to far, but you never know.

I remember when I first saw that Wentworth Prison was coming a few years ago and really wasn't sure if I wanted to watch it........ a modern take on the Prisoner Cell Block-H thing didn't really float my boat, BUT really glad that I did give it a go as, like you say, one of the best shows around at the moment.  However, we'll always have that doubt in the back of our minds that CH5 might drop it for no good reason........ I still miss it on HD.  

I also see that we will be getting a season 7....... fingers crossed CH5 stay with it!!!!

@Thom77 I'm not too worried if C5 drop it as Prime Video has the previous box sets, so they would probably pick it up like Netflix/E4 did Gotham. 🙂

My friend lets me piggy back on his prime video membership so I could just watch it there. 😉

I reckon Sonia will become the new "baddie" which would be interesting.
