Re: Recommend a TV show on Now TV

Sweet! Vice is airing season 3 of the anime Black Butler. I'm glad to finally catch the dub of it. 🙂

Nice one NOWTV for getting it. 🙂

Re: Recommend a TV show on Now TV

I recommend the following.

Game of Thrones - I can't decide whether or not it beats Breaking Bad to be the best TV show of all time. An absolute must watch!

The Handsmaid's Tale - Dystopian, dark and sometimes toe curlingly horrific

The Walking Dead - Zombie drama, tediously slow in parts but worth it. The latest season (9) was a return to form.

Veep - I'm not usually into comedies but this one is great. Follows a fictional US vice president for whom everything goes wrong.

The Affair - Great storytelling and character building. Shown from each character's perspective so you're not always sure if what you are seeing is totally accurate.

Dexter - Serial killer with a moral code

None of these shows are suitable for children.

Riviera - so bad you have to keep watching just to see how much worse it can get.

But worth it just to see class actress Juliet Stevenson metaphorically holding her nose, thinking “What am I even doing here?” but taking the cheques, while the property/cars/locations/rich people porn goes on all around her, Julia Styles channels Kevin Costner, and everybody else does seem to realise that the scenery is there to be chewed....

We watch it while scarfing down Ferrero Rochers, which seems to strike the same notes of naffness and overindulgence Smiley Tongue

@ClockEnd

29 days according to NowTV so I'm guessing we lose it July 2nd or 3rd.

***EDIT***

Good news. According to this page https://community.nowtv.com/t5/Entertainment-Kids-Shows/Chernobyl-goes-off-at-end-of-June-2019/m-p/5... @Jason-C confirms it will be added immediately after as a Box Set 😀

Re: Recommend a TV show on Now TV

Like to give a shout out to "The Night Of" which is an eight episode HBO mini TV series from 2016 currently on Sky Atlantic.

I am not normally into a Murder Mystery type of TV show, but this TV show was sublime and the acting was top notch.

Highly recommended if you are struggling to find something on NowTV to watch.

It's five thumbs up out of five for me 👍👍👍👍👍.

@schnapps

You know Schnapps

"Sublime" is not a word I would use to describe "The Night Of", I would call it "Realistically Dark" because what happens to the main character could happen to anyone.

And he was just on his way to a party.

PS.  This show is also something I would not normally watch, In fact I'm finding it difficult to watch past episode 6.
