Dexter is coming back

Hi to all Dexter Fans

Dexter is coming back, I just read in GeekTown that they're making a new 10 episode series of Dexter, production is due to start in early 2021 with anticipated completion and US premier by Autumn 2021.

At this stage of the game, it's not been confirmed whether Sky/Now TV are going to pick up this new Dexter series but there is a possibility that they will.

Anyway, here is the URL leading to this happy news:

Personally, I can't wait.

Hi @ukbobboy

Here's some more good news about "Dexter - New Blood".

https://www.cordbusters.co.uk/dexter-new-blood-reboot-gets-uk-home/

I did watch all eight seasons on NOW previously a few years back and found the early seasons really enjoyable.

The later season for me wasn't has good where to me the screen writers ran out of ideas and the episodes got repetitive with similar story lines.

Also the final ending to Season 8 was a big disappointment (not has much has GOT though).

Will definitely give this 10 episode reboot a try to see if i can get back into Dexter again 😁.

Yeah Schnapps

I'm hoping that Dexter - New Blood  will start on NOW in November, maybe a few days after it starts in the US.

Anyway, I was struck by a mystery after reading the following:

Some of the returning faces include Jennifer Carpenter, who played Dexter’s half-sister (and fellow police officer), Deb Morgan, in the original series.

If I remember correctly, Dexter's half sister is dead and he disposed of her body. So how can she come back?  (Maybe as a flashback)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this new series.

Hi @ukbobboy

Reading the linked article that i posted, Season 9 is not a continuation of season 8 and is another time line away from Miami 😀.

Yeah Schnapps

I got it, "...Dexter will be “in another place, in another world...", strong hint of an alternative time line.

However, after watching the trailer, this place where Dexter ends up is similar to the place shown at the end of season 8.

Anyway, I still would like to what happened to his family after he left/fled Miami, alternative time line or not.

PS. You can guess that I'm hoping they'll tie up some of those loose ends left over from season 8.

Hi @ukbobboy

Here's apparently how Dexter half Sister will be appearing on Season 9 "New Blood".

Hi Schnapps

Cheers for that piece of info, although on first reading I found it disappointing. I was hoping the "come back" would be a physically  active role rather than being disembodied.

However, that press release could be a "fake out" by the show runner, guess we'll have to wait and see.
